At our local Lions Clubs , we believe in giving every child the best start in life, and that begins with access to books. We are excited to announce a new initiative to collect board books for children ages 0-3 in our community. These sturdy, colorful books are perfect for little hands and developing minds, helping introduce babies and toddlers to the joy of reading.
Why Board Books?
The first three years of a child’s life are crucial for brain development, and reading plays a key role in building language, cognitive, and social skills. Board books, with their simple language and engaging pictures, are designed specifically for this important stage, making them ideal for the youngest readers.
How You Can Help:
- Donate New or Gently Used Board Books – Drop off your donations at our collection sites throughout the community. (See list below for locations.)
- Spread the Word – Share this initiative with friends, family, and coworkers. The more people we reach, the more books we can provide to little ones in need.

When to Donate:
Our book drive will run from October 15 to November 4, 2024. Let’s make sure every child in our community has a book in their hands before the holidays!
